August 10, 2020 | 1 min to read

Commander play has been one of the most popular format today!

And our data shows that commander players are more willing to construct deck and play.

We’ll introduce you a way to run commander, it is popular in stores is North America. And it might be helpful to your business on:

  • Bring you more income
  • Increase the active player number in your store
  • Engage more commander players to your store and spend in your store.

Introduce commander league and Credit System:

  • Convert all entry fee to store credit. (So player could visit your store more often and spend the credits in future. You’ll have more chance to recommend your product to them)
  • Set up a start and end time. A good practice is launch this program 1 week after new set launch and last for 4-6 weeks. (Casual players would like to take part in a long-term play event)
  • Assign a special day every week (e.g. every Tue, Wed.) to run commander league, you could manager your customer better and gather commander fans together easily.

Some good practice:

  • Give out promo pack to those who visit your store regularly.
  • Give out promo pack to those who helped new players most. Thanks them for help you to develop the community
  • Build up your community, communicate with them through social media.

Also, we recommend you run Open House for Commander play!

  • Tell everyone, it is commander open house, welcome them, and bring their friend, to play commander in your store.
  • “Learn to play” section (don’t worry, players enjoy the game for fun)
  • Welcome new players. If able, prepare some entry level deck for demo.

Do not have a proper deck in hand? Don’t worry, we’ll bring you 4 decklists provided by studio X, it has a new-player-friendly powerlevel and complexity and very easy to get them[NM1] , you may try to build up it by yourself, stay tuned till next week!
