This summer is the perfect time to attract new players to your store. Get them into Magic by running great demos with the Core Set 2019 Learn to Play Flip Book.
<p>To run a great a demo, start by identifying the needs of the customer.</p>
<p>Begin by asking a few simple questions to get a sense of the customer's familiarity with <i>Magic</i> or other trading card games. This way, you can cater the demo to their existing knowledge.</p>
<p>Second, <b>keep it simple</b>. Avoid overloading players with information they don't need; instead, get into the action as quickly as possible.</p>
<p>To start out, all a new player needs to know is the goal of the game, how to play lands, and how to cast their creatures.</p>
<p>Once you've jumped into a game, you can explain other details, such as combat and different card types, as they come up.</p>
<p>Third, <b>keep it fun</b>. A fun demo increases the chances the customer will pick up <i>Magic</i> and return to your store.</p>
<p>Give your customer an increasing amount of autonomy over time. Guide them at first and then let them make decisions on their own over the course of the game.</p>
<p>Remember, your goal isn't to win, but to teach them the basics and make sure they have fun. Use positive reinforcement, and allow them to have small victories that leave them feeling good so they're more likely to play again.</p>
<p>Fourth, <b>keep it short</b>. Respecting your customer's time will go a long way to providing an enjoyable experience.</p>
<p>Unless the player asks for more information, to stick to the script. If they've played other trading card games before, you can speed up the teaching process by relating <i>Magic</i> terminology to elements from games they already know.</p>
<p>Finally, remember to pay attention to your customer and assess if you need to adjust your pace or repeat steps. By keeping your demo <b>simple, fun, and short</b> you can create an enjoyable and rewarding experience that leaves them wanting more.</p>
