More Dungeon Master Rewards This Season
We're expanding the Dungeon Master reward for this season to include five Alliance symbol pins and five Horde symbol pins. Feel free to use the extra pins to reward your DMs and other helpers in your store!
Season of Champions Play Kits
A D&D Encounters play kit contains everything your store needs to run the season's Celebration event and four weeks of Weekly Play. Kits come in two forms: a digital kit available to every store and a physical kit for eligible stores in select regions that includes printed materials as well as rewards for your players and DMs.
How to Get a Digital Play Kit
All WPN stores will have access to the digital play kit. You can download it from the WPN Marketing Materials page beginning October 14.
WPN stores that have scheduled Season of Champions events will also receive five D&D Beyond claim codes by email, arriving about a week before early access begins. Distribute them to your DMs so they can download a digital play kit from D&D Beyond free of charge, starting the first day of early access on November 3.
Digital play kits contain the following materials:
- A PDF of the D&D Encounters: Deadmines Delve adventure
- 4 premade Season of Champions characters
- Tactical maps used in the Celebration event
- Organizer instructions
How to Get a Physical Play Kit
The first 1,000 qualified WPN stores in select regions to schedule a Season of Champions D&D Encounters Celebration event by the October 5 deadline will receive a physical play kit. It contains printed materials and rewards that encourage DMs to run and players to join a game in-store, positioning your store as the premier place to play. Check the events page for the current season's Celebration event for scheduling details.
Physical play kits are available in English and only in the following countries for Season of Champions: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Australia, and New Zealand.
To support broad and active participation in D&D Encounters seasons, priority for Season of Champions physical play kits will be given to stores that meet one of the following criteria:
- The store did not receive a physical kit for the previous season, or
- The store received a physical kit for the previous season and reported play data for that season
Physical play kits contain the following materials:
- 5 printed copies of the D&D Encounters seasonal adventure material for both the Celebration and Weekly Play events
- 20 premade character sheets divided into 5 packs, each containing the season's 4 premade characters
- 5 printed double-sided tactical maps used in the Celebration event
- 25 season-exclusive d20s as player rewards—one per participating player, while supplies last
- 10 pins as rewards for DMs and helpers—5 Alliance and 5 Horde, while supplies last
- Printed organizer instructions
Schedule Your Season of Champions Events Now
Scheduling is open for all Season of Champions events. Get them on the calendar early so your players and Dungeon Masters can plan their play time around them.
If you're outside the US, Canada, UK, Europe, and Asia Pacific—the regions where early access is available—be aware that the system will let you schedule events as early as November 3, but Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft won't be on sale in your region until November 17. We recommend scheduling your events for November 17 or later so players can pick up product at the same time they come to play.
In a country where physical play kits are offered? Lock in your Celebration events as early as possible—only 1,000 physical play kits are available. There's more on how to get one below.
Download Marketing Materials
Get the word out to players about your Season of Champions events! Look for downloadable assets on the WPN Marketing Materials page on September 30 to use around your store, on social media, on your website, and anywhere else your community gathers.
D&D Encounters Frequently Asked Questions
How limited are the physical play kits for D&D Encounters?
For this season, 1,000 physical play kits are available to stores in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Australia, and New Zealand, limited to one per store while supplies last. Each kit supports up to 25 players and 5 Dungeon Masters. Stores with larger groups can use the digital play kit to provide additional playable content. We’ll assess future physical kit production based on in-store program engagement.
How do I get the adventure material for each season of D&D Encounters?
WPN stores that schedule D&D Encounters events can download PDF versions of the adventures from the WPN Marketing Materials page two to three weeks before the season begins. Share these with your Dungeon Masters so they can prepare in advance.
We'll also send five D&D Beyond claim codes about a week before early access starts. Give one to each of your Dungeon Masters, and they can claim the seasonal adventure and materials free of charge from D&D Beyond starting the first day of early access for the major seasonal release.
Print versions of the adventures are included in the physical play kit—enough copies for five Dungeon Masters to have one.
Why are there scheduling limits on D&D Encounters?
The scheduling windows are designed to keep everyone playing at roughly the same time. D&D Encounters events gather more than just the community of players at your store—they are shared moments in time everywhere a group chooses to participate. Everyone playing the same adventures at the same time builds a powerful connection and helps players feel like they are part of something big. D&D Encounters Celebration events will be schedulable for only a few weeks, starting on the Friday after early access begins. The Weekly Play period is longer, allowing players to return to your store weekly to continue adventuring at their own pace (we recommend scheduling events from Wednesdays to Sundays).
What do I do after the D&D Encounters season has concluded?
Once the season is finished, we recommend that you keep the same day of the week as your D&D day. You can offer other D&D play opportunities during this time, such as continuing with material from the most recent release, hosting Legends of Greyhawk or Adventurers League games, rerunning the D&D Encounters sessions for those who may have missed them, or empowering your Dungeon Master community to come up with other exciting adventures available nowhere else. Before you know it, a new season of play will be around the corner, with exciting new adventures and options available.
Three seasons in, we hope D&D Encounters has become a familiar part of your calendar for your players. Season of Champions is the biggest invitation to play yet: from regulars who've been adventuring for years to newcomers who know Azeroth better than the Sword Coast, there's a seat at your tables for everyone. We can't wait to see who shows up!
