Hi, I’m Maria Bartholdi, Magic: The Gathering caster and content creator! Today, we’ll walk through the reinvigorated Game Day program, its philosophy, and peek ahead to 2022.

Only available at Wizards Play Network locations, Game Day can now be as run Standard, Sealed, or Booster Draft and is supported by a suite of awesome promos.

Game Day events are timed to create a second peak of excitement shortly after Prerelease, bringing players back into your store to enjoy a new set.

The first relaunched Game Day lands with the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty season, on March 5 and 6.

With swiss rounds cutting to a top-eight, we recommend running your event at Competitive Rules Enforcement Level. Promos are no longer tied to scheduling, but that doesn’t make scheduling any less critical for a successful event.

Speaking of promos, let’s look at the lineup!

The Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Game Day participation promo will be a non-foil Consider. The top eight promo will be a traditional foil Fateful Absence. And the winner’s promo will be a traditional foil Atsushi, the Blazing Sky.

Game Day celebrates each Standard-legal set with an event shortly after release, bringing players of all stripes back to your store. Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, Streets of New Capenna, Dominaria United, and The Brothers War will all be supported by Game Day events.

By comparison, Store Championship celebrates your players’ favorite format twice a year. It’s a competitive showcase of your top players with the promos to match.

Working together, Prerelease, Game Day, and Store Championship create a robust year of in-store play with multiple highlights.
