Season-Long Events
Magic Academy: Learn to Play and Deck Building: June 26–August 6
- Unlimited scheduling. We recommend prescheduling one each of Magic Academy: Learn to Play and Deck Building events. Schedule and report ad hoc day-of events whenever Welcome Decks or Beginner Boxes are used to teach a new player.
Two-Headed Giant Commander Night: June 26–August 6
- One event monthly
- Commander promo: Mister Fantastic, Reed Richards
- Commander promo: Echo, Perceptive Prodigy
- Promo recommendation: use one Commander promo for the first half of the season and the other for the second half of the season.
Standard Showdown: June 26–August 6
- One event per week
- Winner promo: Dark Deed
Friday Night Magic: June 26–August 6
- One event per week on Fridays
- Reward: Secrets of Strixhaven Promo Packs
Events and Promo Usage
Prerelease
Scheduling: unlimited scheduling within the one-week Prerelease window, June 19–25
Prerelease is your community's first opportunity to play with the new set in a casual, fun environment. Players open Prerelease Packs, build decks from the six Play Boosters and included extra rare or mythic rare card, and then play!
WPN stores can also begin selling all products from the new set during the Prerelease week, giving you a jump on sales before the wider market release. Check out the Prerelease Early Sales Policy for complete details.
Marvel Super Heroes Two-Headed Giant Prerelease
Scheduling: unlimited scheduling within the one-week Prerelease window, June 19–25
This special Two-Headed Giant (2HG) Prerelease event features 2v2 team play in the Two-Headed Giant format.
Commander Events
Both the Commander Party and the Two-Headed Giant Commander Night events use the Commander promos. WPN Premium member stores will receive foil promo cards and non-Premium members will receive non-foil promos.
There are two Commander promo cards this season:
- For Commander Party, we suggest using one Commander promo for the first event window July 3-9, and the other for the second event window, July 31-August 6.
- For Two-Headed Giant Commander Night, we suggest using one Commander promo for the first half of the season and the other for the second half of the season.
Commander Party
Scheduling: one event per period, July 3-9 and July 31-August 6
Promo reward: one Commander promo per participant, while supplies last
Commander Party weaves together gameplay and story in an exciting Commander event. There are two event windows for Commander Party--schedule one event in each window so players have a couple opportunities to enjoy the event.
Two-Headed Giant Commander Night
Scheduling: one event per month during the season, June 26-August 6
Promo reward: one Commander promo per participant, while supplies last
Two-Headed Giant (2HG) Commander Night invites players to partner up for casual two-on-two Commander games. It's an ideal way to help new players or at-home Commander players feel comfortable stepping into store play with a friend.
Magic Presents: God of Mischief
Scheduling: unlimited scheduling, July 17-23
Participation promo:
Magic Presents: God of Mischief is a three-versus-one Commander event. One player assumes the role of Loki, the God of Mischief, and has access to a set of advantages called "Loki's Tricks." The other three players team up against Loki, braving the significant advantages provided by Loki's Tricks.
Marvel Super Heroes: The Final Battle
Scheduling: CANCELED
Due to scheduling and production challenges, Marvel Super Heroes: The Final Battle event has been canceled. Wizards EventLink scheduling for this event is no longer available, and all previously scheduled Marvel Super Heroes: The Final Battle events will be automatically canceled. No further action is required on your part.
Magic Academy
Scheduling: unlimited, June 26-August 6
Magic Academy is a two-part event series that introduces new players to Magic: The Gathering using instructional videos that guide players.
Stores in North America can order additional teaching brochures and pocket reference cards via the WPN Marketing Portal.
- In Magic Academy: Learn to Play, players use the Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes Beginner Box (in North America, Latin America, Japan, and EMEA regions), Marvel Super Heroes Welcome Decks, or another starter product to learn the basics and play their first games.
- In Magic Academy: Deck Building, players use six Play Boosters to build a deck and experience Limited-format play.
Standard Showdown
Scheduling: one event per week, June 26-August 6
Promo reward: one promo card for the first-place winner of each event, while supplies last
Standard Showdown is a weekly event where players compete with Standard decks for a single weekly winner promo card prize. If your store receives more promo cards than there are weeks in the season, you may award them to event attendees at your discretion--just be sure to reserve one for each week's winner during the season.
Friday Night Magic
Scheduling: unlimited on Friday, June 26-August 6
Promo rewards: Promo Pack or additional rewards at store discretion
Friday Night Magic is the weekly heartbeat of in-store Magic play. You can schedule unlimited events every Friday in any format and supported by seasonal Promo Packs distributed at your discretion.
Continue to use Secrets of Strixhaven Promo Packs as the promo reward. Your supply of Secrets of Strixhaven Promo Packs is intended to last through early September; no additional Promo Packs will be produced for the Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes or Magic: The Gathering® | The Hobbit™ seasons, so please plan your distribution accordingly.

Demo Beginner Box Coming to EMEA Stores
We're excited to share that stores in the EMEA region will receive one Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes Beginner Box to use in Magic Academy demos and to keep as part of your in-store game library!
Stores in North America, Latin America, and Japan will also receive a Beginner Box.
Magic Presents: God of Mischief
Magic Presents: God of Mischief is a special Commander event for four players held July 17-23. One player takes on the role of Loki, battling three opponents while being aided by powerful Loki-themed abilities. All participants will receive a promo card, regardless of match results.
Note: A technical issue allowed this event to be scheduled outside the intended date range. Affected events have been moved to equivalent days within July 17-23. Check out the announcement for more details.
New Marvel-Themed Welcome Decks
New Marvel-themed Welcome Decks will be included in your Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes marketing kit. These support Magic Academy events and walk-in new player demos. Each deck contains two 30-card half-decks of different colors that combine into a ready-to-play 60-card deck. The five decks each feature a different iconic Marvel character and include one mythic rare card that's new to Magic and available only in the Welcome Decks and Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes Collector Boosters.
