Maria Bartholdi unpacks everything you need to know so you'll be ready for the clash of commanders next week.
Hi, I’m Maria Bartholdi.
Today, I’m partnering with the Wizards Play Network team to talk Streets of New Capenna, a brand-new Magic world full of grit, glamour, and five ruthless family factions. Streets of New Capenna puts Commander play and products in the spotlight, and we want you to make the most of them in your store.
Here’s a look at the Commander Decks:
With the Commander Deck face cards revealed, final product shots are available in the Marketing Materials section of the WPN Site.
Each Commander Deck comes with a foil etched display Commander, two traditional foil legendary cards, the deck itself, ten tokens, a life wheel, and the all-new Collector Booster Sample pack.
The Collector Booster Sample Pack gives players a glimpse of our finest booster offering, containing two cards that could be found in a Collector Booster. All Streets of New Capenna Commander Decks will contain a Collector Booster Sample Pack. It will match the language of the deck, except in Chinese Traditional, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian, where players will receive an English Collector Booster Sample Pack.
To ensure these decks make a big entrance, there are two events that support them: Commander Launch Party and Commander Nights.
Only with Streets of New Capenna, we’re rolling out Commander Launch Party, making Commander the focus of release weekend. It’s a casual celebration of the new set, where players can pick up their favorite faction’s Commander decks and battle. Hand out the promo card “Swiftfoot Boots” to players who purchase a Streets of New Capenna deck and play in the event. This promotion isn’t limited to one-per-player, so you can hand out multiple promos for repeat purchases and play. Plus, the event supports in-store and online play, including events run on SpellTable, allowing you to turn remote play into a sale.
Once new and returning players are equipped with a Streets of New Capenna Commander deck, it’s the perfect time to invite them back for Commander Nights. Commander Nights runs from May 1 to September 1. We have an achievement sheet to add extra variety and a slew of marketing materials to support Commander play and sales in your store.
Streets of New Capenna isn’t pulling any punches. Its promotions elevate Commander play and products like never before. It’s time to schedule your events—Commander Launch Party begins on April 29!
Between the Swiftfoot Boots promo, new product shots, and even more Commander play opportunities with Commander Nights, your Streets of New Capenna season is full of ways to get players engaged with in-store and remote play.
In case you haven't scheduled your Commander Launch Party, don't forget to do so now using Wizards EventLink.
