It's time to reclaim the skies! Tarkir: Dragonstorm takes flight at WPN stores with Prerelease, April 4–10. Bookmark this page to reference as needed for promo and event guidance throughout the season.

Due to a shipping issue, some stores in North America and EMEA may receive their Tarkir: Dragonstorm promotional materials kits later than initially planned. Kits are expected to begin arriving at North American stores on April 2 and EMEA stores as soon as possible during the Tarkir: Dragonstorm season. If your kit does not arrive in time for Prerelease, please issue IOUs to qualifying customers to pick up earned reward materials on their next store visit after delivery.

Tarkir: Dragonstorm Promos & Usage

New & Notable

• Factionalized Prerelease Packs – Prerelease attendees can choose one of the five clan-themed Prerelease Packs that include a seeded booster pack specific to the clan, a themed spindown die, and a stamped premium foil rare or mythic rare promo from the set.
• Prerelease repeat play pins by Pinfinity AR – for players who participate in two or more Prerelease events using their individual Wizards Account.
• Wastes Promos for stores that ran Magic Academy – stores that hosted both the Magic Academy: Learn to Play and Magic Academy: Deck Building events during the Magic: The Gathering Foundations season will receive full-art dragon's eye Wastes basic land promos for Tarkir: Dragonstorm sealed product sales. Beginning April 4, provide one Wastes promo to each customer who purchases any sealed Tarkir: Dragonstorm product in-store while supplies last; limit one per customer per day.
• Magic Academy materials refresh – new gift-with-purchase promo and resupply of learn-to-play materials; stores in English-speaking regions will receive an additional supply of Welcome Decks.

  (Editor's Note: Due to a calculation error, a recent Tarkir: Dragonstorm Prerelease allocation email sent to stores stated an incorrect number of total promo packs. Promo pack displays contain 34 promo packs, not 38 as communicated in the email. Please expect the correct 34 promo packs per each promo pack display that your store has earned.)

Tarkir: Dragonstorm Events

Prerelease

Unlimited scheduling April 4–10

At Prerelease events, players use a Prerelease Pack to build a deck and explore the new set in a casual, party-like experience.

As a special feature of the Tarkir: Dragonstorm Prerelease events, players will align with their favorite clan of Tarkir by choosing one of five factionalized Prerelease Packs.

How you distribute factionalized Prerelease Packs is up to you:

• Allow players to choose based on order of preregistration (a great way to encourage early sign ups).
• Assign them randomly on the day of the event, allowing players to swap with each other before the event begins.
• Have a mix of both: allow players to select a faction for your earlier Prerelease events and then assign them randomly for later Prerelease events to use remaining inventory.

Players who participate in two or more Prerelease events at your store using their Wizards Account to sign up receive a Pinfinity AR pin while supplies last.

Magic Academy

Unlimited scheduling all season

Magic Academy does the heavy lifting of introducing new players to Magic in a two-part program.

• At Magic Academy: Learn to Play, players use Welcome Decks or any starter product to learn the basic rules and play their first games.
• At Magic Academy: Deck Building, players use six Play Boosters to build their first deck and experience Limited-format Magic.

Both events use premade instructional videos, letting your staff focus on individual questions and customer needs.

Players who sign up for Magic Academy using their Wizards Account and purchase six Play Boosters or any starter product receive a Dragon's Hoard promo card while supplies last.

Standard Showdown

Once-per-week scheduling all season

Standard Showdown is a weekly event where your players can hone their Standard format decks. This event is a structured tournament that rewards the first-place winner with a Cowboy Bebop-themed Snakeskin Veil promo.

Depending on your play metrics, you may be allocated more promos than there are weeks in the season. You may award additional promos to event attendees at your discretion but be sure to reserve at least one promo for each remaining week of the season.

Store Championship

Once-per-season scheduling, May 3–June 1

Store Championship can be the culmination of Standard Showdown events for your players who have refined their Standard decks through competition and are ready for their next-level challenge.

Provide event participants with promos while supplies last:

• All participants: Gleeful Demolition promo
• Top 8 players: Charming Scoundrel promo
• Store Championship winner: Goddric, Cloaked Reveler promo

Qualifying WPN Premium stores will receive a second set of Top 8 and winner non-foil promos with the store name printed on the card; provide qualifying Top 8 players and winner with both promo versions.

Commander Party

Two event periods: April 18–24 and May 16–22

Bring together your players for Commander events to experience Tarkir: Dragonstorm story in an exciting way. They'll choose a clan alignment (more than one player may choose the same clan), and as they play, the dragonstorm grows in intensity, opening special clan abilities. If the dragonstorm gains too much energy, it releases a powerful effect for all players in the game.

Remember to schedule Commander Party events in both event windows, April 18–24 and May 16–22.

Participating players receive Dragonspeaker Shaman promo while supplies last.

Friday Night Magic

Friday Night Magic is the weekly heartbeat of Magic in-store play. You can schedule as many events as you'd like every Friday featuring any format. Friday Night Magic is supported with seasonal promo packs at your discretion.
