Wizards EventLink Update: QR Code Player Registration

We're streamlining event registration for players with QR codes and adding new features to improve your Wizards EventLink experience.

We're excited to announce new features that will make Wizards EventLink even easier to use.

QR Code Registration

Player sign-up for events is now even easier with the addition of a long-requested feature: QR code player registration. This new enrollment method eliminates the need for players to manually enter an event code into the Magic Companion app, reducing the number of those who need registration assistance from store staff.

QR codes can be found on the registration page or the mirror tab in Wizards EventLink and easily displayed in your play space. These codes can be copied and included in emails, online listings, and on social media, or printed onto flyers, posters, counter signage, and more.

From the players' side, the process of registering is simpler than ever: They scan an event QR code using the Magic Companion app to automatically register for it and be placed in the Magic Companion lobby. Players can also use the camera app on their mobile device to scan the QR code, which will open the Magic Companion app. If they don't have the Magic Companion app, they will be prompted to install it.

Self-Service Store Info Updating

Soon you'll be able to change your store information without the assistance of Retail Support. This allows for faster updates to your store's email address, phone number, and web address in your Store & Event Locator listing, ensuring players have accurate information about your store. You'll be able to update your preferred distributor in Wizards EventLink, too.

Shorter Times for Automatic Event Closure

You will also soon see improvements to how events automatically close and how you can view and manage them. The length of time for open events to automatically close is being reduced from fourteen days to 48 hours. Auto-closed events will still contribute to your store’s metrics based on their last state before closure.

To help manage and track past events, there will be a new filter option in your Calendar and Agenda views that will allow you to see events that were auto-closed.

Questions?

We hope these improvements will make your work with Wizards EventLink easier. If you have any questions or would like to offer feedback, please reach out to Retail Support!
