Welcome Decks are promotional materials sent to WPN member stores in select regions ahead of certain Magic: The Gathering releases. These are 40-card decks of a single color used to introduce new players to Magic through the Magic Academy event system and other in-store demos.

Each Welcome Deck contains one randomly inserted reward that grants either a physical reward or a digital MTG Arena reward. A player must present the reward insert to a store employee to redeem it. Visit the Dates & Details article for information on how to redeem the rewards.

When you give out a Welcome Deck, please invite players to complete a brief survey. Stores in North America will find a printed flyer with a QR code in their marketing kit and stores in other regions can download and print this flyer with the QR code for easy use.

• Welcome Decks are to be used for new player demos in Magic Academy: Learn to Play events.
• Magic Academy: Learn to Play events can be scheduled on the spot for walk-in demos, and the staff member that provided the demo experience can also be enrolled in the event to reach the two-player minimum.
• Registration with a Wizards Account is required for Magic Academy: Learn to Play events. At the organizer's discretion, registered players who receive a Welcome Deck demo may keep the deck afterward.
• Welcome Decks cannot be sold outright but can be provided to players at Magic Academy: Learn to Play events that require paid entry.
