In-Store Play Update, June 2021

June 9, 2021 | 1 min to read

As of June 9, 2021, the in-store play suspension in Canada, Latin America, and Japan will remain in place.

The in-store play suspension will be lifted in Europe on July 2. The suspension remains lifted in the rest of Asia Pacific, Africa, and the United States.

If you can safely host Wizards-sanctioned events within local health and safety guidelines, you are free to do so once the suspension has lifted.

As the state of play evolves across the globe, we will continue making updates to our in-store play policies as needed. Going forward, updates on in-store play and metrics will be announced as changes are made rather than monthly.

Stay tuned to WPN articles and emails from the WPN team about changes and announcements specific to your region.

Remote play events remain available for all regions in Wizards EventLink via Magic Arena, Magic Online, or webcam through SpellTable beta. Visit our guide to running Arena tournaments through EventLink to get started.

We lifted restrictions around organizers taking admission fees for events run on Magic Arena and Magic Online. We have increased the maximum entry fee for both Magic Arena and Magic Online tournaments to $25.
