• Unlimited scheduling. We recommend prescheduling at least one Learn to Play event and one Deck Building event. Schedule and report a day-of Learn to Play event whenever a Welcome Deck is used to teach a new player.

Buy-a-Box Promo

Players who purchase a Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man Play Booster box or Collector Booster box from WPN member stores are eligible to receive the Buy-a-Box promo card, Spider-Sense, while supplies last. Note that participants in the Commander Box League are eligible to receive the Buy-a-Box promo! 

Continue to Use Edge of Eternities Promo Packs

With Edge of Eternities, WPN member stores received an increased quantity of Promo Packs to cover the full period extending until January 2026 when Lorwyn Eclipsed is released. No additional Promo Packs will be distributed for Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man and Magic: The Gathering | Avatar: The Last Airbender, so please plan your Promo Pack usage accordingly.

Commander Events

All three Commander events below use the Commander promo, Spider-Ham, Peter Porker. WPN Premium member stores will receive foil promos and non-Premium members will receive non-foil promos.

Commander Box League

Scheduling: unlimited during Prerelease week, September 19–25
Promo reward: one Commander promo and one Buy-a-Box promo per participant, while supplies last

Commander Box League events run alongside Prerelease, where players open a Play Booster box and build a 60-card Commander deck to play throughout the league.

Two-Headed Giant Commander Night

Scheduling: one event monthly, September 26–November 13
Promo reward: one Commander promo per participant, while supplies last

Two-Headed Giant (2HG) Commander Night invites players to partner up for casual two-on-two Commander games—an ideal way to help hesitant or at-home Commander players feel comfortable stepping into store play with a friend.

Commander Party

Scheduling: one event per period, October 3–9 and October 24–30
Promo reward: one Commander promo per participant, while supplies last

Commander Party weaves together gameplay and story in an exciting Commander event. There are two event windows for Commander Party—schedule one event in each window, October 3–9 and October 24–30, so players have a couple opportunities to enjoy the event.

Prerelease

Scheduling: unlimited during Prerelease week, September 19–25

Prerelease is your community's first opportunity to play with the new set in a casual, fun environment. Players open Prerelease Packs, build decks from the six Play Boosters and promo included, and play.

The Prerelease period is also when WPN partner stores can begin selling all products from the set before non-member stores and other market channels.

Magic Academy

Scheduling: unlimited, September 26–November 13
Promo reward: one promo (while supplies last) with purchase of starter product or six Play Boosters

Magic Academy is a two-part event series that introduces new players to Magic: The Gathering using instructional videos that guide players.

• In Magic Academy: Learn to Play, players use Welcome Decks or a starter product to learn the basics and play their first games. WPN member stores will receive set-themed Welcome Decks, and they will be available in all our published languages.
• In Magic Academy: Deck Building, players use six Play Boosters to build a deck and experience Limited-format play.

Standard Showdown

Scheduling: one event per week, September 26–November 13
Promo reward: one promo card for the first-place winner of each event, while supplies last

Standard Showdown is a weekly event where players compete with Standard decks for a promo card prize. If you receive more promo cards than there are weeks in the season, you may award them to event attendees at your discretion—just be sure to reserve one for each week's winner during the season.

Magic Presents: Friendly Neighborhood Draft

Scheduling: recommend weekly events as promo supply allows, September 26–November 13
Promo reward: promo card for undefeated players, while supplies last

Magic Presents: Friendly Neighborhood Draft is a special Pick-Two Draft format event series ideal for small groups and casual play. Players compete in two Swiss rounds, and the undefeated player from each pod earns the event promo card (while supplies last).

Magic Presents: A Villainous Halloween

Scheduling: unlimited scheduling during window, October 31–November 2
Promo reward: one pack of event materials per participant, while supplies last

Note: WPN members must have scheduled this event by 11:59 p.m. PT on August 15 to receive the materials needed to run it.

Magic Presents: A Villainous Halloween is a special Commander event where players bring their own decks and, at the start of the game, secretly choose a classic Magic villain card with its own alternate win condition. As a reward for participating, players can take home a pack of event materials while supplies last.

Spider-Man: The Final Battle

Schedule: one event, November 1–9
Promo rewards: one Spider-Man alternate-art comic book for the tournament winner

Spider-Man: The Final Battle is a one-time, competitive Standard Magic tournament for the Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man season offering a special reward for the winner: an alternate cover art comic book variant of The Amazing Spider-Man #1.

Friday Night Magic

Scheduling: unlimited on Friday, September 26–November 13
Promo rewards: Promo Pack

Friday Night Magic is the weekly heartbeat of in-store Magic play. You can schedule unlimited events every Friday in any format and supported by seasonal Promo Packs distributed at your discretion.

As noted previously, your Edge of Eternities marketing kit included a larger quantity of Promo Packs to last through the release of Lorwyn Eclipsed in January 2026—please plan your usage accordingly.

New Pick-Two Draft Format Event

Magic Presents: Friendly Neighborhood Draft offers a fresh take on Limited play with the Pick-Two Draft format—best suited for four-player draft pods, where players select two cards at a time instead of one. The result is a faster draft experience that introduces new layers of strategy in card selection and deck building, while making it appealing to both newcomers and seasoned players.

New Spider-Man: The Final Battle Event with Unique Winner Prize

Spider-Man: The Final Battle is a one-time, season capstone Standard event running from November 1–9. Players will face off in a competitive tournament where the winner takes home a special prize: an alternate-art variant comic book of The Amazing Spider-Man #1. With a single comic book available per store and only one event per store, the stakes and excitement will be high!
