As of May 12, 2021, the in-store play suspension in Canada, Latin America, and Europe will remain in place. In-store play suspension has been reinstated in Japan.
The suspension has been lifted in the rest of Asia Pacific and Africa. Starting May 28, the in-store play suspension will be lifted in the United States.
If you are located in any of these regions but aren't ready to run in-store events yet, that's okay. We’re here to help you ease into this transition. The Q1 2020 metrics freeze is still in place.
But, if you can safely host Wizards-sanctioned events within local health and safety guidelines, you are free to do so once the suspension has lifted.
The next update will come on June 9.
Remote play events remain available for all regions in Wizards EventLink.
We recommend WPN members host remote events, whether via Magic Arena, Magic Online, or webcam through SpellTable beta. Visit our guide to running Arena tournaments through EventLink to get started.
We lifted restrictions around organizers taking admission fees for events run on Magic Arena and Magic Online. We have increased the maximum entry fee for both Magic Arena and Magic Online tournaments to $25.
Wizards will continue to monitor the situation and update WPN members on the second Wednesday of each month.
