Schedule Your Wilds of Eldraine Store Championship

Celebrate your engaged players with a local tournament for the Wilds of Eldraine season.

Following the release of many Magic sets, players are invited back to the store to enjoy a taste of competitive play with an epic tournament event: the Store Championship.

Store Championship celebrates your Magic regulars with a tournament run using the Standard, Booster Draft, or Sealed Deck format. Our quick guide will walk you through top need-to-knows to help you run a fantastic event at your store.

Store Championship Promos

The following promos arrived as part of your Wilds of Eldraine promo kit:

  • Participation: Tail Swipe
  • Top 8: Transcendent Message
  • Winner: Moonshaker Cavalry

WPN Premium stores received an extra set of the Top-8 and Winner promos in non-foil with their store’s name printed on the card. Both versions of each should be provided to qualifying players.

Reminders for Running Store Championship

As you get ready for your Store Championship event, there are a few things you'll want to keep in mind. Store Championship is considered a taste of competitive play for your community, but you can run the event at Regular or Competitive REL. Regardless of which REL you choose to run your Store Championship, you do not need a judge to be present. However, you may choose to hire one if you like; you can consult the Judge Academy website for details.

If you run your event at Competitive REL, your players will be required to register their deck checklists in advance. Players can download the Wilds of Eldraine Deck Checklist from the Rules and Documents page.

Store Championship events run as Booster Draft or Sealed must use Draft Boosters from the most recently released set: in this case, Wilds of Eldraine.

You do not have to cap your event based on how many participation promos you receive; participation promos should be provided first come, first served in order of event registration. As always, you are welcome to add additional prizing to the event at your discretion.

When running Store Championship events, you also don't need to worry about playoffs—if you don't have enough players in your event to cut to Top 8, you may run Swiss rounds and provide prizes based on standings. If your event does not launch or you have surplus promos after the event is over, the surplus promo policy applies.

We hope you're ready to run your greatest Store Championship event yet—and if you haven't scheduled it yet, be sure to do so now to get your event on the Store & Event Locator!
