About Launch Party

Taking place on release weekend, Launch Party is all about celebrating Commander Masters with Commander and Commander Draft play. Players can pick up a pre-constructed Commander Masters deck in-store to play in at least one game, or play in a Limited event at your store. Either way, Launch Party is a great opportunity for players who look forward to the excitement of checking out the cards and playing Commander with friends.

For Commander Masters, you'll use the Commander Draft format rules, with the notable addition that all monocolored Legendary Creatures have the Partner ability during Commander Draft only.

If you plan to offer both pre-constructed Commander play and Commander Draft at your Commander Masters Launch Party, each format must be run and reported as its own event in Wizards EventLink. Regardless of the format you choose, the pairing method will automatically lock in as Player-List Only for every Launch Party event you run.

Metrics Information

Metrics will be reactivated with at least 6 months' notice. At this point in time, we do not have a current anticipated date for metrics reactivation. Until the end of the grace period, promo and product allocations will be based on live metrics or the Q1 2020 metric snapshot, whichever is higher.

As always, all events reported through Wizards EventLink, including Webcam and At-Home events, will count towards play metrics: Tickets, Engaged Players, and Activated Players.
