Review the rules and set your players up for success as they align with animalfolk to survive the changing seasons!
In Bloomburrow, seasons and weather are changed by the arrival of Calamity Beasts; during this season's Commander Party, players will choose one of the animalfolk and use their unique skills to weather whatever comes their way.
You can hold Commander Party events twice during Bloomburrow play season: first, during August 16 – 22, and second, during September 6 – 12. When scheduling your event, use the Commander Party template, then grab downloadable marketing materials to get advertising!
When it's time to set up the event, keep this checklist handy.
The participation promo for Bloomburrow Commander Party is Heirloom Blade; set them aside and provide one to each participating player while supplies last.
In your marketing materials kit, you received English-language Commander Party materials: the Animalfolk Party Cards and the Season Wheel Play Aid. Set up each Commander pod of four players with one Play Aid and allow each player in the pod to choose an animalfolk card for the game.
Local-language Commander Party materials can be downloaded from the marketing materials page.
Once the season wheel is placed and players have chosen their animalfolk, they'll follow the directions on the Play Aid:
At the beginning of a player's upkeep, they'll reference their animalfolk card, which instructs them to flip a coin. If it lands on heads, they will receive a special benefit provided by the animalfolk they aligned with. If it lands on tails, they will move the Season Token along the Season Wheel.
With that, let the Commander games commence! If you prefer, you may set a timer and give a heads-up to players when 15 minutes remain in the event.
After the event is finished, don't forget to report play using Wizards EventLink. While you're in the platform, it's a great opportunity for you to ensure you've captured any casual Magic play—Commander or otherwise—happening in your store that day. Just create an unpublished Player List Only open play event and add people as they come along.
You only need to schedule and report one of these casual play events per format, per day. For example, if you have a couple players come in and sit down for casual Commander play, schedule a player list only Commander event and enroll the players. You can keep this event open throughout the day and add additional players as they play.
