Prerelease for Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate is in just two days—starting June 3, your players will come together to build their legends with Dungeons & Dragons crossover fun.

Today we're sharing a few reminders to help make sure you're set for a successful Prerelease.

Prerelease Early Sales Promotion

Your Prerelease Early Sales allocation of Draft and Set Booster display boxes is unchanged from Streets of New Capenna. Please note that there are fewer booster packs per box, so your store will be allocated fewer total boosters overall.

WPN Premium Stores that achieved their WPN Premium designation before March 25 will be allocated Collector Booster displays for Prerelease Early Sales.

Be sure to encourage your players to support your store with the purchase of a Booster Display box to get their hands on the Buy-a-Box Promo, Elder Brain. If the delivery of the Buy-a-Box Promo has been delayed in your region, you may issue your players an "IOU" for them to redeem when the promo arrives at your store.

Tips for Prizes at Prerelease

Before your event is underway, it's important to determine your event's prize structure in advance. For prizing, you are allocated one display of Set Boosters (18 Set Boosters) for every case of Prerelease Packs (15 Prerelease Packs).

Our recommendation is to provide each player with one Set Booster for participation, then use the remaining three per case to incentivize behavior such as early registration, recruitment, sportsmanship, or mentorship.

Remember, Prerelease Packs are not available in Korean or Chinese Traditional; therefore, Prerelease in these regions will use a Sealed event with nine Set Boosters. Prerelease participants in these regions will receive three Set Boosters as a prize . Stores will also be giving out mini posters to each ticket with a variety of collectible designs.

Drafting Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate Prerelease

The draft experience for Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate combines a traditional Prerelease draft with Commander play. We have a full breakdown of how to run Prerelease Draft for this set, but here are the basics you need to remember:

• Players open and add their foil year-stamped promo to their draft pool before beginning. During draft, players pick two cards at a time.


• Players may choose a Legendary Creature with the "Choose a Background" ability , plus a Background, to act as their Commander.


• Players who use a Legendary Creature with "Choose a Background" as their Commander can begin the game with an Enchantment with the Background subtype in the Command Zone.


• When deck building, players must create a deck of exactly 60 cards (including their Commander and Background ) that match their commander's color.


• If a player did not draft a Commander of the same color as the rest of their deck, they may choose to use Faceless One instead.

Be sure to brush up on the details before Prerelease kicks off this weekend so you're prepared to answer any questions players may have. After drafting is complete and decks are built, arrange players into tables with as close to four players as possible, and let the Commander chaos commence!
