Hi everyone, Yichao here to tell you about the in-store Magic League program.
A league program can help build and strengthen your community by bringing players of all skill levels together to share in an ongoing, store-wide experience. Here's how it works.
League begins the Monday after the release of a new set and continues for four weeks.
You can schedule it in Wizards Event Reporter with your Prerelease and other set-related events.
At the beginning of league, issue each player three booster packs, a collection box, and a match card. Be sure to keep prizing in mind when determining the entry fee.
Players will build a thirty-card deck from their three boosters and the remaining cards can be used to change their deck in between matches.
Each match is just a single game.
Participants can play as many matches as they want, whenever they want, against anyone in the league.
Encourage players to play in your store with a regularly scheduled "League Night."
Allow players to add an additional booster to their pool of cards each week. If a player joins late, let them add any booster packs they missed from previous weeks.
Players may also add a booster to their pool after every three losses.
Rewards are up to you but we recommend rewarding players for the most wins, most games played, and for being a friendly competitor.
You can download and print these award certificates from our marketing materials page.
That's it! For more resources and information on how League can help build your community and foster reoccurring in-store play, head to the WPN website.
