Prerelease: Dominaria United

During Dominaria United season, metrics count for all regions.

As a reminder, we are extending the WPN play metric snapshot grace period to February 18, 2023 in all regions except for Latin America, where the grace period has been extended to May 23, 2023. Until the end of the grace period, promo and product allocations will be based on live metrics or the Q1 2020 metric snapshot, whichever is higher.

All events reported through Wizards EventLink, including Webcam and At-Home events, will count towards play metrics: Tickets, Engaged Players, and Activated Players.

At Prerelease events, players crack open a Prerelease Pack, build a Sealed deck, and try out the set for the first time in a casual tournament.

Prerelease events are available all week, September 2–8, starting at 3PM Friday, September 2.

Tournament Prerelease events (with rounds) and Player List Only events (without rounds) are now both available to be scheduled from the Prerelease event template on Wizards EventLink, and use Prerelease Packs for the event.

Jumpstart Prerelease is a new addition starting with Dominaria United. Jumpstart Prereleases can be hosted as either Tournament or Player List Only events. Participating Jumpstart Prerelease players can be awarded with prizes from your allocation—we recommend awarding half the amount you would give a participant who uses a Prerelease Pack.

Don't forget to enroll Jumpstart Prerelease players into the Jumpstart Prerelease template in Wizards EventLink—their attendance will affect your future Jumpstart allocation for Prerelease.

At-Home and Webcam Prerelease

At-Home and Webcam Prerelease are available all week beginning 3PM Friday, February 11.

That date and time also apply to regions where in-store play is available, and organizers can limit the number of people in their store at any given time by scheduling as many events as they need.

We're continuing support for virtual tabletop events and other remote play opportunities through:
