It's nearly time for your community to enter Duskmourn…if they dare! Our 13 Days of Duskmourn preview season has begun, and the plane-enveloping House will set the scene for your community's greatest fears to come to life.

Your marketing material kits begin arriving, aptly, on Friday, September 13; just in time for Halloween and the spookiest season of the year. Keep this page handy as you review its contents and prepare for Prerelease on September 20.

Don't wait until the last moment—get your full spooky season of Duskmourn: House of Horror events scheduled today.

Prerelease (September 20 – 26)

Have nightmarish fun at Prerelease all week long as players overcome incredible odds and uncover thrilling secrets in the plane-enveloping House. Whether you encourage staff and players to dress for the occasion or you go all-out on horrifying store décor, it promises to be a thrilling time.

Prerelease is also your opportunity to take full advantage of Prerelease Early Sales, where WPN stores worldwide (excluding Japan) continue to get every product right into players' hands starting at Prerelease in any quantity, from singles to full display boxes.

Customers who treat themselves to a full display box of Play or Collector Boosters in-store will receive the Buy-a-Box promo Twitching Doll plus an English-language Collector Booster, while supplies last.

This promotion is for in-store purchase or pick-up only; no Buy-a-Box promos or promotional Collector Boosters may be included in shipped orders at any time.

Alongside your free-of-charge prize support for Prerelease, you will receive a quantity of free-of-charge Collector Boosters to hand out to qualifying customers through your preferred distributor. All free-of-charge Collector Boosters will be sent in English language. Please note, you will have fewer Duskmourn: House of Horror Collector Boosters than Buy-a-Box promos. Why? Urgency. They're a bonus for your earliest box sales, and a sample of the new product for your most engaged fans. Give them out on a first-come, first-served basis to encourage them to pick up their box as early as possible.

Players won’t want to risk missing their chance at a Collector Booster. It’s a great opportunity to thank players for buying early, and to get these new boosters into the hands of the fans they'll most appeal to!

Standard Showdown (September 27 – November 7)

Standard Showdown is an opportunity for your players to meet, game, and compete in a light-hearted environment for a shot at the awesome prize promo awarded to winners each week!

This season, Standard Showdown is supported by the next Cowboy Bebop collaboration promo, Disdainful Stroke, in traditional foil.

Commander Party (October 4 – 10 & November 1 – 7)

With the twice-a-season cadence, players have the opportunity to try out the special rules, refine their deck strategy, and return for another opportunity to play. This time, players will be exploring a haunted mansion, opening doors and revealing mysterious Tiles with abilities that may benefit the player—or change the course of the game for everyone.

Participating players receive a copy of the promo Crippling Fear, while supplies last.

The Commander Party is additionally a great opportunity for curious players to pick up a pre-constructed deck and continue the fun with the return of Archenemy. Those seeking a truly unique game can even try a three-on-one Archenemy game alongside the Room exploration that Commander Party adds.

End of Year Store Championship (October 12, 2024 – January 5, 2025)

Duskmourn: House of Horror's Store Championship can be scheduled any time until January 5, 2025, making it the most flexible Store Championship scheduling yet. Take full advantage of this and position it at the ideal time for your store and community!

WPN Premium stores receive an extra set of the Top-8 and Winner promos in nonfoil with their store’s name printed on the card. Both versions of each should be provided to qualifying players.

Trick or Treat! Duskmourn: House of Horror (October 25 – 31)

The scheduling deadline to receive goodie bags, emblems, and allocated free-of-charge participation prizing product for the Trick or Treat event was August 23. Stores who did not schedule an event by that deadline will not have the supported materials to run this event.

The Trick or Treat spook-tacular event invites players to participate in Sealed Deck events with a chilling twist! Players can participate in a Trick event and receive a goodie bag that they'll use in a Sealed Deck event or spend enough on sealed Magic product in-store for the Treat promotional goodie bag to take their loot home.

Open "Haunted" House (November 1 – 3)

Open House is the primary space where new-to-Magic players can come and learn how to play Magic: The Gathering in a social environment—your store! You may consider transforming your space into a haunted house-themed haven to match the Duskmourn: House of Horror aesthetic; crafting memorable experiences makes new players all the more likely to return (if they dare).

Participating players receive the promo Night's Whisper, while supplies last.

Welcome Decks are returning for Duskmourn: House of Horror to English-language WPN stores, and Open House is the perfect event to use them! There are two decks in each box; one in an indicated color, and the other a random one of the five mana colors in Magic.

These 30-card decks can be provided to new players during Open House or for walk-in demos any time. Outside of Open House, we encourage you to create a new player event and sign up any new players with a Wizards Account when you walk them through a demo using Welcome Decks!

Welcome Decks are a great introductory tool for players; you may send players home with them to practice more at your discretion, but we encourage you to keep plenty on hand to run demos on demand in your store as needed.
