Preparing for Your Commander Party

For the four Standard set releases beginning with Dominaria United, Commander Party events are interconnected. The continuation of game-altering choices, driven by reveals on each Commander Party poster, allows for some exciting moments to unfold that may be different from store-to-store.

Commander Party events will take around two hours, so communicate that clearly to your players at the start of the event. Keep a timer handy once players begin, and end the event once the time is up, regardless of the game state at each Commander pod.

Each Commander Party is supported by 100 faction cards to be passed out to participants at the start of the event. Each faction card allows players to use some special abilities that add compelling twists to their typical Commander games!

If the Commander Party for The Brothers' War will be your store's first of the Standard season, don't worry; each Commander Party can still be enjoyed as a stand-alone experience, making it easy for you to bring new players into the event at any stage.

Inside Your Commander Party Kit

Commander Party materials were shipped with your promo kits for The Brothers' War; each promo kit for WPN Premium stores includes the following Commander Party materials:

• 100 Commander Party participation promos


• 100 Commander Party faction cards (one variant for each brother, 50 copies of each)


• One set of Commander Party instructions

If your Commander Party for The Brothers' War will be your first, your kit will include the Dominaria United Commander Party kit. We suggest you run the Dominaria United Commander Party leading into your event.

Hang the poster in a prominent area of your play space ahead of the event to ensure maximum visibility to your players, while also being out of reach to avoid over-eager attendees scratching off your poster ahead of time.
